Seniors Committee
This committee is responsible for organizing events and celebrations for the graduating class. Have a question or want to help celebrate our Seniors? Please email Seniors@afhsptsa.org.
Yard Signs
The committee receives orders from parents/students, places the order with the supplier and manages distribution out. This is a separate cost than the AFHS Senior Fees.
Seniors T-shirt
This year, the Student Council held a contest for the Senior T-Shirt design. Students could design a shirt to be entered into the contest and voting occurred on Instagram. Once the winner was decided, AFHS ordered shirts for each senior student and the Senior Committee distributes them.
Seniors Back to School Social
This event is held the Friday before school starts in the cafeteria. It is a chance for everyone to see each other and have some fun before school begins. It is a completely free event for students that includes food, photo ops, raffle giveaways, other prizes, pickup of senior shirts and signs and announcements for upcoming senior events.
Parking Lot Decoration
This event is typically held the night before school starts. For a two-hour window parents/students can come to decorate the student's parking spot. This year, the event was changed to include all seniors with the option to decorate sidewalk spaces. There are prizes given out (determined by Mr. Pittman and Mr. Kasapidis) for first, second, and third places. This year there was a tie for 3rd place!
Senior Parade
Seniors meet at Apex Nature Park at 6:00 AM, with a parade at 6:30 AM, following Officer Stone to AFHS. The theme for the 2023-2024 year was "Patriots Out" and many went over the top with decorating. The students are greeted at the school with a light grab-and-go-breakfast. First, second, and third place prizes are awarded.
Senior Sunrise
A new event for the Class of 2024, this event was held on the Monday morning of Homecoming Week. Students met in the football stadium for a light breakfast and a class picture on the field.
Senior Sunset (formerly Senior Sendoff)
This event will be held on Tuesday, June 4 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM on campus, following the graduation rehearsal and awards ceremony. It will include another class picture on the field, food, games, prizes, music, and more!
Baccalaureate
A non-denominational event to honor the Class of 2024, the Baccalaureate service will be on Sunday, June 2 at 3:00 PM at Hope Community Church, located at 2080 East Williams Street, Apex, NC 27539. This is not a mandatory event, but all Seniors and their families and friends are welcome!
