Volunteer Opportunities: Hospitality Committee

Responsibilities

The Hospitality Committee is responsible for planning and executing a variety of appreciation events throughout the school year, culminating in Teacher Appreciation Week, which is a highly anticipated celebration across Apex Friendship High School.

Skills

Helpful if you either already have (or are open to learning!) - these skills are needed across all subcommittees, but you do not need to have every skill listed below:

Email: regularly communicating with various PTSA Board Members and Committee Chairs about needs
Google Drive: navigate shared drive to locate files for sharing/posting

Additional attributes that would be helpful in this role are:

Being organized
Having some flexibility in your day to be on campus periodically - this can be shared among several volunteers on the committee

Several Hospitality Committee tasks can be completed while at home or on the go, but there is some on-site presence that will be needed, i.e. helping to set up/break down from events, etc.

It would be ideal to have at least 1 person work on each of the following areas, or find a a friend to do it with you and team up for a role!

Coffee Bars:
Recognition Lunches: we provide breakfast/lunch to a variety of roles at the school throughout the year (e.g., bus drivers, school resource officers, custodians, etc.); this involves obtaining meal preferences, set-up and break-down, taking photos and requesting consent to use on our social media channels
Chair: to coordinate between the Hospitality Committee members and the rest of the PTSA Board and other Committee Chairs

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week-long event falls under the Hospitality Committee, but due to its multi-day nature, will require particular focus for a set of volunteers. Our outgoing Hospital Chairs have extensive resources to help plan, organize, and execute this event and will orient incoming volunteers to what has worked well!
